Search has stopped being one surface. A prospect might find you in a map pack, in a classic organic listing, or inside an AI-generated summary that never sends a click at all — and the work required to appear in each is genuinely different. Our SEO practice is organised around that reality rather than around a single ranking report.

It depends entirely on where the constraint is, and the diagnostic is quicker than most people expect. If you serve customers in a defined geographic area and are not appearing in map results, local SEO is almost always the fastest route to revenue, because map pack movement can show in weeks rather than months. If you rank inconsistently or have pages competing with each other, that is a website SEO problem and no amount of local work will fix it. If pages are not being indexed at all, or the site renders differently for crawlers than for humans, technical SEO comes first because everything else is capped until it is resolved. AI SEO is rarely the right starting point on its own, since retrievability problems are usually technical in origin — but it is increasingly worth running alongside whichever of the others you begin with.
They can genuinely be bought separately, and we would rather you did that than pay for work you do not need. Technical SEO in particular is frequently a one-off remediation project with an optional monitoring retainer, and many businesses need it once rather than continuously. Local SEO stands alone perfectly well for a single-location business with a simple site. Where the interdependence becomes real is at scale: a multi-location business trying to rank across a metro will hit the ceiling of what a Google Business Profile can do and needs website SEO to reach the areas outside its proximity radius, so buying only one produces a plateau that looks like failure. We will tell you when that boundary applies to you and when it does not.
Local SEO is the fastest, and Google Business Profile changes can move map pack position within weeks — which is precisely why it is the highest-demand entry service in this market. Website and technical SEO operate on a slower cycle, typically three to six months before compounding becomes clearly visible, because indexing, re-crawling and ranking stabilisation each take time regardless of how good the work is. AI SEO is the least predictable, because generative surfaces change without announcements and citation presence can shift faster or slower than organic ranking. What we can commit to is honest interim reporting: leading indicators like indexation, impression growth and citation presence tell you whether the work is landing well before revenue does, and we would rather show you those than ask you to wait six months on faith.
Three specific things we can point to, because we audited them rather than assuming. First, schema hygiene: we reviewed the five highest-ranking agencies in our own HQ market and not one shipped FAQPage schema, two had genuine schema errors including a competitor leaking LegalService markup onto its own homepage, and one marked a service page up as an editorial article. Correct, consistent structured data on every page beats most of that market on its own. Second, location pages that survive a swap test — the largest local competitor runs 68 city pages that are demonstrably the same template with the city name substituted, and we do not build those. Third, published pricing ranges, because none of the top five publish any, and buyers consistently say they are looking for exactly that.

These fail independently and compound together, which is the argument for running them as one strategy rather than buying them from three vendors.
We will audit what you have and tell you honestly whether this discipline is where your budget belongs. Sometimes the answer is that something else is capping you first.
