AI SEO Services

AI Overviews now appear on more than 40% of Google queries, and AI-generated local packs surface roughly 68% fewer businesses than a classic three-pack. The number of visibility slots is shrinking. The number of businesses competing for them is not.

Our approach

Be the source the AI cites, not the result it summarises past

Generative Engine Optimisation is not a rebrand of SEO, and treating it as one is why most agencies' AI offering is a blog post with the word "AI" in the title. The mechanics genuinely differ. A traditional search engine ranks a list of documents and lets the user choose. A generative system retrieves a set of candidate passages, synthesises them into a single answer, and cites a handful of sources — which means the unit of competition is no longer the page, it is the extractable passage. You can rank fourth organically and still be the sentence the model quotes, or rank first and be paraphrased without attribution.

That changes what the work is. Retrievability comes first: can a system that reads your page without executing JavaScript actually find a self-contained, factually specific statement that answers the question? Then citability: is that statement attributable, dated, and specific enough that a model summarising three sources has a reason to name yours. Then entity clarity: does the web consistently describe your business the same way, so a model has a coherent thing to reason about rather than four conflicting descriptions.

The uncomfortable part is measurement, and we would rather say so up front than sell certainty we do not have. There is no Search Console for ChatGPT. What we can do is track citation presence across the major assistants for your priority prompts, monitor AI Overview appearances for your keyword set, watch the referral traffic that does arrive from assistant surfaces, and measure the branded-search lift that consistently follows AI visibility. That is a real measurement programme, but it is a different instrument than a rank tracker, and anyone promising you a clean position number for a generative surface is describing something that does not exist.

What's included

What AI SEO actually involves

Deliverables, not a feature list. Each of these is something you can point at and ask about in a monthly review.

Retrievability audit

We test how your pages present to systems that read HTML without executing scripts, because a meaningful share of AI crawling does exactly that. Content injected client-side, key facts locked inside images, and answers that only exist after three paragraphs of preamble are all effectively invisible — and all extremely common.

Passage-level content restructuring

We rewrite key pages so each substantive question is answered in a self-contained passage that survives being lifted out of context. That means the answer stated plainly first, the qualification second, and enough specificity — figures, named conditions, dates — that a model has a reason to cite you rather than a competitor making the same claim vaguely.

Entity and knowledge-graph consistency

Consistent Organization markup, sameAs links across your real profiles, a factually stable description of what your business is and where it operates, and reconciliation of conflicting third-party descriptions. A model cannot confidently cite an entity it cannot resolve.

AI Overview and citation tracking

A tracked prompt set covering how real buyers would ask about your category, monitored across the major assistants and Google's AI Overviews, so you can see where you are cited, where a competitor is, and where the answer names nobody at all — which is the opportunity.

AI crawler access configuration

Deliberate, documented decisions about which AI user agents may access your content, rather than an inherited robots.txt that silently blocks the systems you now want to be cited by. We make the call explicit, with the trade-off stated, because it is a business decision rather than a technical default.

Structured data as a machine-readable summary

Schema is no longer only about rich results. Clean FAQPage, Service, Organization and BreadcrumbList markup gives a retrieval system a pre-parsed, unambiguous version of your page, which materially improves the odds that the fact it extracts is the fact you intended.

Rules we hold ourselves to

  • Answer the question in the first two sentences of a section, then qualify — inverted-pyramid structure is what makes a passage liftable.
  • Include specific figures, dates and named conditions; vague claims lose citations to precise ones every time.
  • Ensure every important fact exists as server-rendered text, not only inside an image, chart or client-rendered component.
  • Keep one canonical description of your business and reuse it verbatim across your site, schema and profiles.
  • Ship FAQPage schema whose content matches the visible page exactly — it is a pre-parsed answer set handed straight to a retrieval system.
  • Track a prompt set, not a keyword list; generative visibility is measured in questions, not phrases.
  • Revisit AI crawler permissions deliberately as a commercial decision, not as a security default.
  • Date and attribute your claims. An undated statistic is far less citable than the same statistic with a source and a year.

Problems this fixes

Symptoms you might recognise, and what is actually causing them

If any of these describe your situation, the cause is usually not the one people assume — which is why the fix matters more than the symptom.

  • What is actually causing it Usually their pages contain plainly stated, specific, self-contained claims and yours contain hedged marketing prose. Models cite what they can extract cleanly and attribute confidently.

Your competitors appear in AI Overviews for your category and you never do.

What we do about it We restructure your key pages around answer-first passages with real specifics, then track citation presence across the prompt set to confirm the change landed.

  • What is actually causing it Classic zero-click erosion. You still hold position, but an AI Overview above you now satisfies the query, so impressions hold while clicks decay — most visible on informational queries.

Traffic is falling but your rankings have not moved.

What we do about it We shift the informational layer of your content toward being the cited source rather than the clicked result, and rebalance conversion emphasis toward the commercial queries AI summaries do not resolve.

  • What is actually causing it Conflicting entity data across the web — an outdated description, a stale directory listing, an old service list — with nothing authoritative enough to override it.

An AI assistant describes your business incorrectly.

What we do about it We establish a single canonical description in your Organization markup and on-site copy, then reconcile the third-party sources feeding the wrong version.

  • What is actually causing it Key facts inside infographics, pricing in a PDF, comparisons rendered as images, or content loaded only after user interaction. Human-readable and machine-retrievable are not the same thing.

Your best content is in a format an AI cannot read.

What we do about it We surface those facts as real text alongside the visual asset, so the graphic still serves the reader while the underlying data becomes extractable.

  • What is actually causing it Blanket blocks added during the 2023–2024 wave of scraping concern, never revisited once being cited became commercially valuable.

Your robots.txt blocks the AI crawlers you now want citing you.

What we do about it We audit crawler directives against your actual commercial goals and make the access decision explicit and documented, rather than inherited from an old default.

How it runs

Our AI SEO process

Four stages in this order. The sequence matters — doing these out of order is how engagements produce activity instead of results.

Step 01 Generative visibility baseline

We build a prompt set from how buyers in your category actually ask, then record who gets cited today across the major assistants and AI Overviews for each one. This is the before picture, and it usually reveals that a competitor nobody was worried about is being named repeatedly.

Step 02 Retrievability and entity remediation

We fix what stops your content from being read and resolved: client-side rendering of key content, facts trapped in images, missing or contradictory Organization data, and crawler access rules. This is unglamorous groundwork with no visible output, and skipping it makes everything after it ineffective.

Step 03 Answer-first content build

We restructure existing high-value pages and write new ones targeting the prompts where no source is currently cited. Each is built around self-contained, specific, attributable passages — the format generative systems can actually lift.

Step 04 Citation monitoring and iteration

Monthly re-testing of the prompt set, tracked against baseline, alongside AI Overview appearance rates and assistant referral traffic. Generative surfaces change fast and without announcements, so this is an iteration loop rather than a project with an end date.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the actual mechanical difference between optimising for AI Overviews and optimising for classic organic rankings?

Classic ranking evaluates and orders whole documents, so your competitive unit is the page and your outcome is a position. Generative retrieval selects candidate passages, synthesises them into one answer, and cites a small number of sources — so your competitive unit becomes the individual passage and your outcome is whether you are named. This has a counterintuitive consequence: page-level authority matters less than it does organically, which is why smaller sites sometimes get cited over larger ones. A precisely worded, self-contained, specific paragraph on a modest domain can be a better extraction candidate than a hedged paragraph on an authoritative one. Practically, we optimise the same pages for both surfaces, but the passage-level restructuring is work that classic SEO never asked for.

How can generative visibility be measured when there is no Search Console for ChatGPT?

It cannot be measured with the precision of a rank tracker, and we would rather state that plainly than imply otherwise. What we do instead is build a fixed prompt set reflecting how buyers in your category actually ask questions, run it across the major assistants and Google's AI Overviews on a monthly cadence, and record who is cited for each prompt. That gives a genuine trend line for citation share against a baseline, alongside three supporting signals: AI Overview appearance rate for your tracked keywords in Search Console impression data, referral traffic from assistant surfaces where they pass a referrer, and branded search volume, which reliably lifts when a business starts being named in AI answers. It is a real measurement programme, but it measures presence and share rather than position, and any vendor quoting you a numeric rank for a generative surface is describing something that does not exist.

Should I allow AI crawlers to access my site, given they may train on my content?

This is a commercial decision rather than a technical one, and it turns on whether being cited is worth more to you than the content being used in training. For most service businesses the answer is clearly yes: you are not selling the text, you are selling the service the text advertises, and a blanket block guarantees you cannot appear in a surface where an increasing share of buyers now begin their research. The genuine exceptions are businesses whose content is the product — paid research, proprietary datasets, subscription publishing — where the trade-off runs the other way. What we consistently find is that neither decision was actually made: sites carry blanket blocks added during the 2023 scraping wave and never revisited, silently excluding themselves from a channel they now want. We make the call explicit and documented either way.

Why do vague marketing claims lose AI citations to specific ones?

Because a generative system synthesising several sources has to choose which to attribute, and specificity is the strongest available signal that a passage contains genuine information rather than positioning. "We deliver outstanding results for our clients" is unattributable — it says nothing a model can verify, contrast or usefully quote. "An 84% organic traffic increase over three months for a single-location client" is a discrete, checkable claim with a figure and a timeframe, so it survives extraction and gives the model a reason to name the source. The same logic applies to conditions and caveats: a passage stating that proximity decay typically limits local pack range to two or three miles in dense consumer categories is far more citable than one saying local SEO helps you reach nearby customers. Precision is not a stylistic preference here; it is the mechanism.

My rankings are stable but organic traffic is dropping. Is that AI Overviews, and what can I do?

Stable positions with declining clicks is the signature pattern of zero-click erosion, and you can confirm it in Search Console by comparing impressions against clicks per query: impressions holding while clicks fall means you are still surfacing but something above you is satisfying the query. It concentrates almost entirely on informational searches, which is diagnostic in itself — if your commercial and branded queries are unaffected while your how-to and what-is queries are collapsing, that is an AI Overview pattern rather than a ranking problem. The strategic response is to stop treating informational content as a traffic channel and start treating it as a citation and authority channel, while rebalancing conversion emphasis onto the commercial-intent queries where a summary cannot substitute for a provider. That is a genuine repositioning of what your content is for, not a tactical fix.

Is GEO worth investing in now, or is it early enough to wait a year?

The honest answer is that it is early enough to be uncertain and late enough to be costly to ignore, which is an uncomfortable combination. Around 41% of small and mid-size businesses have already adopted some generative-optimisation practice, so the first-mover window is narrower than it was twelve months ago. Our own competitive research found a working example: while most agencies in our HQ market have no AI content at all, one direct competitor already runs three distinct, well-built GEO service pages at three thousand words each — which is exactly why we do not tell clients this space is wide open. What makes the investment defensible now rather than speculative is that the foundational work overlaps heavily with good conventional SEO: retrievable content, clean entity data, correct schema and answer-first structure all improve classic organic performance too. You are not betting the budget on a single surface.
